Self-esteem centred coaching
hi, I’m Melissa
I work as a personal coach primarily with those at university and in their 20s. My intention as a coach is to help you to achieve your goals ultimately by raising your self-esteem.
Self-esteem is a complex internal motivator. For me no one has defined it better than expert Nathaniel Branden, as two-fold in essence:
The confidence in your ability to think and to cope with the basic challenges of life (self-efficacy).
The confidence in your right to be happy, feel worthy, assert your needs & wants, and live according to your values (self-respect).
As such, self-esteem is at the core of resilience, mental wellbeing, competency, success, connection, joy, fulfilment, contentment.
Navigating university, figuring out your path, transitioning into the workplace or a new one, balancing & satisfying social, career, personal needs… self-esteem gets tested.
I offer a non-judgemental space for you to gain clarity on where a lack of self-efficacy and self-respect is holding you back. I share neuroscience-based strategies to help you to manage critical thoughts; develop positive thinking; dismantle unhelpful mind-loops and limiting beliefs; build self-nourishing habits; intentionally respond rather than automatically react. I also share simple, effective practices of mindfulness for you to become more attuned to your body and its valuable signals.
